On December 11, 2006, China will officially open its banking sector to foreign banks, allowing them to enter in the Chinese market. The arrival of these multinational competitors is a threat to the 112 Chinese City Commercial Banks (CCB) and who have 5,000 branches, $200 billion in assets, and just months to catch up with international banking standards and best practices. At the US Banking Management Training Program, 20 of these banks, under the leadership of the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC), will be learning about American practices and the US regulatory environment, as well as getting exposure to US business solutions. This translates into opportunities for IT hardware, software, consulting, and training providers, as well as other services. There will be 20 Chinese City Commercial Banks and 24 presidents or CEOs taking part in the five-day event. Participation in the Training Week is by invitation only. Sponsorship opportunities are available . Please contact Project Co-Chair, Richard Chong or Samuel Mills for additional information. Among Chinese Bank Needs:
